Nepal Trekking Gear Lists

Head

  • Woolen or fleece hat, sun hat for sun protection while trekking
  • Sunglasses
  • Head torch            
  • Suns cream, lotion and lip balm

Hands

  • Warm gloves

Body

  • Some pairs of T-shirts and long sleeved shirts, pull over, light flesh jacket Poncho or raincoat 
  • Thermal shirt for high altitude areas
  • Wind proof jacket, fleece jacket or warm wool jumper
  • Windproof, waterproof outer shell garment for Higher altitudes
  • Down jacket to be recommended for cold nights & morning if you are in high altitude (we can be hired in Kathmandu before we start the trek)

Leg and foot wear

  • Trekking boot, recommend water proof trekking boot in high altitude
  • Some pairs socks, Warm socks for colder areas
  • Trekking trouser (thermal and wind breaker)
  • Thermal leggings for colder areas
  • Long skirt for women as an alternative to trousers
  • Waterproof trousers
  • Gaiters, in case of rain or snow

Toiletries

  • Hand towel, soap, tooth brush, paste, face wash, toilet paper, wait tissue.

Medical

  • Headache, capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea pain killer, vomiting
  • Personal Medicines and First Aid Kits
  • Diamox™ (125 or 250mg tablets) for altitude sickness. Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine
  • Band-Aids, some waterproof tape, cotton, iodine, anti-infection ointments etc.

Snacks

  • Chocolate, biscuit, chewing gum, etc 
  • Day sack to be carried personally

Extra items

  • Binoculars
  • Altimeter
  • Compass
  • Trekking pole, small knife
  • One liter water bottle
  • Personal first aid kit to include essential items
  • Sleeping bag, 4 season

  • Plastic bags or stuff sacks to store/separate trekking gear

Environmentally friendly

Water bottle to refill the boiled water from the lodges or iodine tablets to purify the water, rubbish bag to bring till the lodge or to the right place and etc.

Note-

Re-garding the sleeping bag , you can rent from kathmadu which would be an option incase if you do not want to carry it.
We will sort out all the equipment lists once again before we head off to trekking.
