Yala Peak Climbing is non-technical and less challenging than other snow peaks in Nepal. Yala peak is perfect for beginner climbers who want to gain peak climbing peak experience. Prior experience is not required but a good level of fitness is a must for peak climbing.

We start our trek from kathmandu. Syabrubesi is the starting point of our trek after a 7-8 hrs drive from Kathmandu Valley. Passing through the dense forest of Rhododendron, Pines, and Oaks forest towards traditional ethnic community via The Lama hotel. The Kyanjin Gompa of 3800 meters altitude is the first place for acclimatizing before Yala Base Camp. We can quickly arrange our camp and the necessary preparation for the climbing summit of Yala Peak.

Our itinerary focus on properly acclimatized and fully equipped, our experienced climbing peak experts follow led to the Yala Peak. Once we reach the top of the Yala Peak summit, we can have an amazing view of Langtang valley including Langtang Lirung 7245m, Dorje Lakpa 6990m, Pemthang Karpo 6830m, Gangchenpo 6387m an excellent vantage point for Shishapangma 8046m on a Tibetan side. We will spend short quality time at the summit and descend down following the same route. The adventurous experience at Yala Peak Climbing with Mount Trails ends with a scenic drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi.

From the top of the Yala Peak, stunning views of popular snow-peaked mountains- Langtang Lirung 7246m, Gangchempo 6387m, Dorje Lakpa 6990m, Naya Kanga Peak 5844m, Shishapangma 8027m on the Tibetan side and also many other snow-capped peaks can be seen.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive at Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel.

Mount Trails airport representative will be picking you up from the airport as per your schedule flight and transferred to the hotel. Either you can have a rest at the Hotel or visit Mount Trails office in Thamel. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Mount Trails Team.

Today is the day for your peak climbing preparation. You will attend a meeting that involves discussions about your peak climbing expedition. You will be meeting our guide and fellow trekkers and discuss the equipment needed for peak climbing.
Later in the evening, you can pack your necessary items and evening walk around kathmandu durbar square if you want.

After breakfast we will drive north from Kathmandu over zigzag and hilly road that passes through a busy market town of Trishuli Bazaar and from there we continue the driving journey over a gravel road all the way to reach the starting point of the trek - Dhunche. Today's drive offers good views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himalayan Ranges. Besides, you will get a brief glimpses of village life along the drive route.

We start our trek from Dhunche over a dusty motor road that heads towards Syabrubesi. We will reach a small village of Thulo Bharkhu which indicates the start of the trekking trail. From there we will follow the trail go gently climbs through Oaks and pines filled forest towards Barbal. Here on we will continue our trek walking along an easy undulating trail along the forest and with glimpses of Ganesh Himal and the beautiful Langtang valley. We head up to the ridge top of Thulo Syabru where the village is inhabited by Tamang ethnic community. Here we will visit a permit check post for our registration procedure.

From Thulo Syabru, we will descend following the trail that drops down to Langtang Khola and from there turning east on the true left bank of the Langtang Khola, we continue to trek upstream with minor ups and downs towards Bamboo. From there we head for the crossing of a suspension bridge before crossing a couple of landslide areas and climb a switchback to reach Rimche. From Rimche our trail climbs a little before dropping to the village of Lama Hotel.

Leaving Lama Hotel we will enter the dense forest filled with oaks, birch, hemlock and mountain bamboo where we will have an opportunity to spot wild monkeys and several species of birds. Our trail continues through the forest passing through alone teahouse at Gumnachok and from there climb steeply towards Ghoratabela. There is an army check post at Ghoratabela where trekking permits will be checked. From here we will trek through small settlements of Chyamki and Kangtangsa before making a short climb to reach Langtang village.

From Langtang village, we will head for an easy climb through two Bhotia hamlets - Mundu and Sindum with great views of Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo, and Langshisa Ri. We will continue on a trail that climbs the terminal moraine of Lirung Glacier and descends down to the gompa and many teahouses of Kyangjin Gompa.

Acclimatization is very crucial in higher altitudes. Today we will spend our day for acclimatization and making exploration around Kyangjin Gompa. We can make an adventurous hike to Tsergo-Ri at 4985 meters for magnificent views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding high peaks.

We will continue to follow the trail that goes over the glacier and ascends gradually all the way to the base camp. During our trek, we will have great views of Yala Peak, Langtang Lirung and other surrounding high peaks. Once we reach the base camp, we will quickly set up our camps and make necessary checks on our health status and climbing gears for successful Yala Peak Climbing.

Today is the day for actually achieving the target summit of Yala Peak. Fully acclimatized and properly equipped we will make an early start, as strong winds afternoon can create obstacles making it impossible to climb. Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing experts, we head to the summit of Yala Peak. Once at the top we are rewarded with breathtaking views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga Peak and several snow-topped high mountains. We will spend some quality time at the summit before following the same trail as for the return journey that heads back to the base camp.

After having achieved the summit of Yala Peak, we will continue to retrace our steps and following the same trail that passes through Kangjin Gompa and then continue trekking until we arrive at the Langtang village.

Leaving Langtang village, we will continue to retrace our steps on the main trail towards Ghoratabela and from there, an easy downhill walks through the dense forest filled with oaks, birch, hemlock, and Himalayan bamboos to reach Lama Hotel.

From Lama Hotel, we will continue to trek on the main trail that descends all the way down to reach Syabrubesi. Today is the final day of our trek with rather easy downward trekking that passes along several traditional villages and terraced farmlands, through a dense forest filled with rhododendron, oak, and pine trees.

We will drive from Syabrubesi along zigzag hilly roads back to Kathmandu. During our drive journey, we will have an opportunity to witness the daily activities of local people for survival while we drive along several villages and towns.

You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Also, walking around the shopping area of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. We will have a final meal together in the evening.
